Hi Everyone,
Thank you to infinity for agreeing to be part of (or letting your kids be part of) Brian’s and my wedding. Most of you know what a huge deal it is for Brian and for me to be getting married at all – and the fact that it’s to each other is a total God thing.
COVID-19 UPDATE
Many people have asked if we’re still moving forward with plans, and the answer is yes. One way or another, we plan to get married on Sep 5. Whether that ends up being a church ceremony or a living room one or a drive-in is up in the air, and I’m doing my best to hold those plans loosely.
With the COVID-19 pandemic slowing up traveling and making plans so uncertain, I want you each to know that—while I would be overjoyed and thrilled to have you here in person—if you decide that you and/or your family can’t make the trip to San Diego, I will still love you. If that happens, please consider being a remote wedding attendant. Your family’s health and safety is more important than your presence here, and we can Zoom you in so we can still see your beautiful faces.
SCHEDULING
Tentatively, we have the bachelor*/bachelorette party scheduled for Sep 3, and the rehearsal for Sep 4. So please block out those dates. They will be after 5 pm, so that if you’re working locally, you can make it. Wedding party members 21 and over are invited to the bachelor/bachelorette parties, and the entire wedding party (and parents, as appropriate) are invited to the rehearsal.
The wedding on Sep 5 will be at 11:00 a.m., and the reception will go until around 3:00 or 3:30 p.m. A more detailed schedule, including picture times, will be forthcoming, probably in August.
*Brian doesn’t actually want a bachelor party, but he wouldn’t be opposed to going out for drinks or something.
FASHION
Please click here to know what you (and/or your kids) should wear to the wedding. I tried to make it easy, but you know me and my over-organizational self. I apologize in advance if it’s complicated.
If any of the fashion is going to be a financial burden for you, please don’t be embarrassed to talk to me separately. I can’t be paying for everyone’s clothes, but I do have a little money set aside to help offset if you need it; I don’t want you going broke or into debt to be in our wedding.
The places I recommend you order your clothes from generally deliver within 4-6 weeks (or sooner!), so you should have plenty of time to pick them out. Once you do order your clothes, please let me know in a separate message (not the group message – I’m not tryna annoy everyone with group messages). Women and girls, please also let me know which dress/outfit you buy.
ACCOMODATIONS
If you are traveling and need help finding accomodations, please let me know before July 5. After that, I can promise you, I will have no brain power left to put those pieces together.
THE END
Okay, I think that’s the end of my brain dump. If I missed anything important to your planning right now, please let me know. Otherwise, you’ll hear from me again in a couple of months about other details.
Love,
Charity
